So today the piano went to our friends the Brown's house. And it made me sad. We are getting rid of just about everything in our house, furniture, books, junk, etc. and people have asked if I have anything that I'm sentimental about. The piano is kind of it... It's nothing too special or valuable - but it was my dad's as a kid, it was our piano when I was a kid and I learned to play on it, and now my kids have played on it for the past couple years. The Brown's are "babysitting" our piano - and I know they'll take great care of it, but it still makes me a bit sentimental. It's definitely the first thing I've been sad to see go out the door.
We have so much stuff - old furniture, newer things, etc. I'm thankful that neither Kevin or I are too attached to out things - this process would be much harder - or we'd be paying a lot of money to store stuff. But the piano made me sad.
Now I'm off to go through the Christmas stuff - another possibly sentimental journey. How will I decide what to bring with us and what will stay behind?
Sigh...it's gonna be a long day.
